How are the fraud rates estimated?
We use published benchmarks from the National Retail Federation's Return Fraud Report and Appriss Retail's Consumer Returns study. Category rates vary year over year — these numbers are midpoints of recent ranges.
Does this work outside the US?
The category patterns are broadly consistent across the EU, UK and US. Absolute loss numbers will shift with local return rates, but the ratios are comparable.
What does Claimscan actually detect?
